Thrust Roller Bearing

Spherical Thrust Roller Bearing

Thrust roller bearings are used to bear the combined axial and radial load, mainly the axial load. Still, the radial load shall not exceed 55% of the axial load. Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this type of bearing has a lower friction factor, higher speed, and has self-aligning performance.Thrust roller bearings are widely used in the steel industry, mining and construction, paper machinery, wind turbines, machine tools, gearboxes, motors, pumps and compressors, and injection molding machines.
We develop and produce tailor-made thrust roller bearings for businesses. Benefit from our many years of experience. The design and material selection of your thrust roller bearings are based on your needs, your application, and its specifications. Please get in touch with us for details.

Spherical thrust roller bearing consists of a thrust-type rolling bearing that allows angular alignments and movement with low friction. They have two inner rings and two outer ring raceways inclined towards the bearing axis. The bore of the inner ring, which is misaligned, contains a rotating shaft about the outer ring. Axial loads acting in a direction and accompanying acting radial loads are provided housing by the bearings. The weight on the bearing is converted between the running way by the rollers of the bearing.

Some of the advantages of spherical thrust roller bearings:

  • They can carry static and dynamic alignments.
  • These bearings have a moderate to the high capacity of speed.
  • They have a low coefficient of friction due to reduced maintenance requirements.
  • These types of thrust bearings are self-aligning and can support high operating rates.
  • Their capacity for radial thrust and loads in one direction allows them to carry outstanding heavy loads.
  • Their high number of asymmetric rollers is excellent for the distribution of loads.
  • While rotating at high speeds, spherical roller thrust bearings have minimum load requirements.
  • They have reliable performance.
  • They have versatility and widespread use.
  • They are insensitive to the shaft bending or deflection misalignments and consist of a rotating shaft bound to the housing.

Materials used in spherical thrust roller bearings:

Bearings can be made with different materials. Chrome steel is referred to as the standard and widely used material. The authorities have tested it. Some materials which are used in bearing cages are:

  • Machined steel
  • Stamped or machined steel on steel
  • Stamped or machined brass.

Series having low volume have cages made of machined steel or machined brass, whereas sometimes high-volume series have steel metal cages.

Applications of Spherical Thrust Roller Bearings:

  • Agricultural machinery
  • Metal millwork
  • Electric motors
  • Screw conveyors
  • Processing equipment as refiners
  • Cranes
  • Swing bridges
  • Offshore drills
  • Automatic opening systems
  • Pulp and paper
  • Mineral and cement processing
  • Mining
